Synesthesia For those of you who have been following the comments around here, you might have noticed that a few blogs ago the conversation steered towards synesthesia, yet another condition (that my spell checker doesn’t recognize!) which affects quite a few people. Synesthesia, for those of you who missed the conversation earlier, is a condition where the perception of one sense (let’s say smell) triggers another sense (let’s say sight). So yes, you could smell a hot dog and then actually see the number twelve in technicolor! How freaky cool is that!

Anyway, my husband and I just watched a special on the Science Channel about synesthesia where in the end they theorized some connections with synesthesia and creativity. Alan’s written a cool summary about the episode on his website. Go check it out!
